2012 Elizabeth Ann Seton Award Honoree: Mr. Michael Maron

“Pursue a path you feel passionate about, love what you do and the rewards will follow” are words that have guided the life of Michael Maron, President and CEO of Holy Name Medical Center in Teaneck, New Jersey. With a long career in the field of business and health services administration, Mr. Maron is recognized widely for his vision, leadership and compassion generously shared in the Catholic community and beyond. His dedication and commitment stand as testimony to the values of St. Elizabeth Ann Seton.

2012 Father Victor Yanitelli, SJ Award Honoree: Sister Catherine O’Leary

It was said of Fr. Victor Yanitelli, SJ, that he would never let it be forgotten that our salvation is linked with our meeting the needs of others. As teacher, principal, pastoral minster, provincial and member of her congregation’s General Council, Sister Catherine O’Leary has been meeting the needs of others as a Sister of Charity of Halifax for over 60 years. Of her many leadership roles, it is in her present role as Executive Director of Women Helping Women, a position she has held for more than 20 years, that she most closely emulates the values of Fr. Yanitelli. Co-founded by Sister Catherine and two of fellow Sisters of Charity, Women Helping Women provides temporary safe housing for victims of domestic violence. For more than two decades, Sister Catherine has welcomed more than 1800 women and children, helping survivors move from crisis to self-sufficiency. It is in this ministry that Sister Catherine mirrors most closely the values of Fr. Yanitelli as she makes God’s presence and love manifest in the lives of those she serves.
