The annual New York awards dinner for SOAR! was a success. The event, held Oct. 7 at the New York Athletic Club, drew more than 300 guests to support aging Catholic Sisters, Brothers and Priests. Each year at the dinner, SOAR! recognizes organizations and individuals for their leadership and contributions to the Catholic community.

In the interview, Sister Kathleen talks about SOAR!’s mission in helping address the needs of aging religious across the United States. She also highlighted the upcoming New York Awards Dinner to be held on October 7, 2015.

SOAR! is pleased to announce its 2015 grant awardees!

At its May 2015 meeting, the SOAR! board of directors, members approved awarding grants totaling just over $1.1 million.

Thank you to all our friends and donors who supported SOAR!’s sold out Spring luncheon and private tour of the exhibit “Picturing Mary: Woman, Mother, Idea” at the National Museum of Women in the Arts in March.

Each year, as part of its annual New York dinner, SOAR! presents the Father Victor Yanitelli, SJ Award. Nominations may only be submitted by religious orders or Vicars of Religious. The nomination form, is due no later than March 23, 2015.

Last evening, Rev. Theodore M. Hesburgh, C.S.C., passed on to Eternal life. One of the most influential Catholics and priests in the United States, Father Hesburgh made a difference in the world of education, social justice, politics, and religion.

The members of the SOAR! Board of Directors and staff commend to your prayers William A. Geoghegan a former SOAR! Board member (2004-2010) and supporter, died on Saturday, January 17, 2015.
