SOAR!

“Trust in God.”

Sister Ann Catherine Fuchs is a Sister of Divine Providence in Allison Park, Pennsylvania. When she was in third grade, she knew she wanted to be a Sister. Trusting in God’s call to her, she entered the congregation in 1951.

Sister Ann Catherine spent most of her life teaching first and second grade students. Between 1954 and 1989, she taught in Pittsburgh, PA, West Virginia and Michigan. She especially loved preparing the second graders to receive their First Communion and teaching them about the Holy Eucharist.

Her ministry continued at Providence Child Care in Castle Shannon, PA, where she was a caregiver and later onsite coordinator. Sister returned to the Motherhouse in 2009 where she serves as a volunteer and loves to visit with the older Sisters. Known for her patience, kindness and being a good listener, her presence helps build on the Sisters’ vision to celebrate community life.

When Sister Ann Catherine was asked to share a word of wisdom, she said, “Trust in God. Always pray and be as generous as you can be to those around you.”

Thanks to the generosity of SOAR! donors, the Sisters of Divine Providence in Allison Park, PA received a grant to purchase a therapeutic sensory game console. The console has a multitude of games that promote physical activity and inspire social interaction and a sense of fun.
