Parish Visitors of Mary Immaculate

In December 2015, the Parish Visitors of Mary Immaculate in Monroe, New York received a shock.

During a routine check of the oil level inside the Sisters’ underground, 54-year-old oil tank, a pipe broke off, rendering it useless.

Because of the age of the tank, the Sisters knew that replacing it was their only option. They needed a new one quickly – snow was in the forecast and temperatures were in the single digits.

They prayed they could turn to SOAR! and its donors for help. Thanks to our donors SOAR! provided an emergency grant for $4,300 so that the Sisters could immediately purchase two new indoor oil tanks. The Sisters were safe and warm, and the new tanks will serve them for many more years.

“Thank you for acting so quickly on behalf of our aged Sisters,” wrote General Superior Mother Carole Marie Troskowski, PVMI.

“SOAR!’s benefactors would be very pleased to know of your answer to our urgent plea for help. They and your staff are in our prayers of gratitude.
