Sister Kathleen Lunsmann, IHM, has served as President of SOAR! since 2010, bringing extraordinary dedication, wisdom, and vision to the organization’s mission of supporting aging religious women and men.  

Under her thoughtful and strategic leadership, SOAR! has grown significantly, expanding both the number and size of grants awarded and deepening its impact on religious communities across the nation. With her steadfast commitment, thousands of aging religious have been able to remain safe in their homes, continue serving as vibrant members of their communities, and age with dignity and grace. 

Throughout her tenure, Sister Kathleen upheld the highest standards of transparency and accountability. She strengthened the internal operations and enhanced the team’s responsiveness to both donors and grantees. Because of her guidance and the strong foundation she has built, SOAR! is well prepared to move confidently into the future. 

In 2026, Sister Kathleen was elected to serve as Vice President and Councilor of her congregation, the Sisters, Servants of the Immaculate Heart of Mary in Scranton, PA.  

As she begins this new chapter of ministry, SOAR! celebrates her remarkable leadership, faithful service, and the lasting impact she has made on the lives of countless religious women and men.
