In Memoriam: Monsignor James Dorney

The SOAR! staff and board of directors commend Monsignor James Dorney to your prayers.

Monsignor Dorney died October 26, 2015. He was 83. He was a beloved cleric in Staten Island, New York, where he had served as co-vicar since 1998. At the time of his death he was pastor emeritus of St. Peter’s R.C. Church in New Brighton, New York.

He was a long-time friend and supporter of SOAR!

Monsignor Dorney was ordained a priest in 1958, and served in the Bronx and Manhattan before he came to Staten Island in 1976. He served as pastor of St. Peter’s from 1986 to 2013.
