2014 New York Award Dinner

SOAR! held its 28th Annual New York City Gala Dinner benefiting the aged and infirm religious on Wednesday, September 17, 2014 at the New York Athletic Club. 260 friends and benefactors gathered to honor James Landy, Sr. Florence Speth, SC and Zeigler for their tireless efforts.

James J. Landy2014 Honorees:

Elizabeth Ann Seton Awardee: Mr. James J. Landy Executive Chairman Hudson Valley Bank   James J. Landy is a veteran banker who has spent the last 36 years with Hudson Valley Bank (HVB), holding various senior and executive management positions. After serving as President and CEO for 12 years, he was named Executive Chairman of Hudson Valley Holding Corp. and Hudson Valley Bank in 2012.

Father Victor Yanitelli, SJ Awardee: Sister Florence Speth, SC Executive Director Robert B. Fox Memorial Shelter Sister Florence Speth was born in Brooklyn, New York. Her first connection with the Sisters of Charity of New York was at Bishop McDonnell High School, where students were invited to volunteer at Saint Joseph Hall, a child service facility in Brooklyn run by the Sisters. Florence was moved and affected by the kindness and dedication shown by the Sisters in St. Joseph.

Sister Florence SpethSaint Katharine Drexel Awardee: Ziegler is a specialty investment bank and underwriters of financing for not-for-profit senior living providers, will be honored with the Saint Katharine Drexel Award for making a national impact on the lives of women religious.
