SOAR! Award Dinners

Founded in 1986, SOAR! continues its tradition of providing needed funds and caring concern for aging religious. The annual benefit dinners held in New York, Washington, DC and Los Angeles provide critically needed funds to help congregations care for their elderly members.

Each year SOAR! invites individuals and corporations to participate in a benefit dinner. The money raised at the benefit dinners is used to fund projects that help to ease the burden of aging for Sisters, Brothers and Priests in a religious community.

Sisters and Brothers have spent their lives in service to others – and now they need our help. Your support of SOAR! will allow them to age with dignity and respect. Your support will also help ease the burden on their congregations so they can continue the ministry to God’s people to which they have been called.

From the very beginning, the dinners in cities around the country have also been an opportunity to honor and express appreciation for the genuine generosity and goodness of individuals who have made a difference in the lives of others.

The Saint Elizabeth Ann Seton Award is given to individuals and couples who have distinguished themselves through the sharing of their leadership and generosity in the spirit of the Saint Elizabeth Seton.

In 1993 Denise Hattler established the Father Victor Yanitelli, SJ Award given at the New York dinners to religious for outstanding work in their ministries. Each person that we have honored is recognized for a persona that inspirits and empowers others. All have outstanding gifts of grace as searchers of truths in writings; compassionate caregivers; or advocates in the pursuit of quality education, the appreciation of the arts, or social causes.
