2010 SOAR! NY Dinner Honorees

Sister Francis Raftery and Father Benedict J. Groeschel will be the honorees at the 24th annual benefit dinner for Support Our Aging Religious (SOAR!). The dinner will take place at The Union League Club in Manhattan on Wednesday, October 6, 2010 beginning at 6pm. The dinner benefits the frail and elderly religious through grants for everything from life saving medical equipment to repair and construction costs. Continue reading

$3/4 Million in SOAR! Grants

At the winter meeting of the SOAR! board of directors, members approved 44 grants for a total of $3/4 million to 44 religious congregations of women and men in 17 states. These grants will benefit almost 3,000 women and men religious at a median age of 79. Continue reading

Another $1 Million in SOAR! Grants Awarded

At its winter meeting in Washington, DC, the board of directors of Support Our Aging Religious (SOAR!) approved the award of 58 grants totaling $1 million that will benefit 58 religious congregations across 24 states and Puerto Rico. This decision and the money SOAR! is raising now will have an impact on the lives of more than 1,900 elderly and infirm religious whose median age is about 78 years old. Continue reading
